iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple and launched on October 23, 2001. The line-up currently consists of the original style hard drive-based flagship iPod classic, the iPod touch, the mid-level video-capable iPod nano, and the entry-level screenless iPod shuffle. Xbox By Microsoft

The Xbox 360 is a video game console produced by Microsoft, developed in cooperation with IBM, ATI, Samsung, and SiS. Its Xbox Live service allows players to compete online and download arcade games and content such as game demos, trailers, TV shows, music videos, or rented movies. The Xbox 360 is the successor to the Xbox, and it competes with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of gaming systems.

The Xbox 360 was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information divulged later that month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is the first console to provide near-simultaneous launch across the three major regions, and to provide wireless controller support at launch. The console sold out completely at release (with the exception of Japan) and as of Q2 2007, shipped 11.6 million units worldwide. A new SKU entitled the Xbox 360 Elite features HDMI output, a 120GB HDD and a matte black finish.

PlayStation 3

PLAYSTATION®3, commonly abbreviated PS3) is a video game console from Sony Computer Entertainment, and the successor to the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. In sales and market share, it is currently in third place. The console was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan and shortly after on November 17, 2006 in North America, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Its primary storage media is the Blu-ray Disc, while also supporting SACDs, DVDs, and CDs. It can output high-definition video for both video games and movies via a HDMI 1.3 port, supporting up to 1080p HD resolution. After a recent software update, DVD-Video, PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games can be upscaled to high-definition; however, copy-protected content (such as commercial DVDs) can only be upscaled over HDMI.
In addition to all of the features of the 20 GB model, the 60 GB model has internal IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, multiple flash card readers (SD/MultiMedia Card, CompactFlash, Memory Stick) and a chrome coloured trim. In terms of hardware, the 80 GB model released in Korea is identical to the 60 GB model released in European territories, except for the difference in hard drive size.IPTV compatibility is supported through software and could potentially be added to other models of the console.
No official Wi-Fi or flash memory card readers have yet been released by Sony for the 20 GB console, although plans for such add-ons are in place. Nevertheless, as both models feature four USB 2.0 ports, wireless networking and flash memory card support can already be obtained through the use of widely available external USB adapters.

Nintendo Wii

The first firmware update via WiiConnect24 caused a very small portion of units to become completely unusable. This forced users to either send their units to Nintendo for repairs (if they wished to retain their saved data), or exchange it for a free replacement. It has also been reported that a Wii console receiving WiiConnect24 data in standby mode can overheat to the point of damaging the GPU and CPU. This has caused pixelation problems and instances of total hardware failure. As of April 21, 2007, it is possible to contact Nintendo and send it for repair. A small number of routers are partially or totally incompatible with the Wii console, due to the way the Wii interacts with them, and the firewalls that the routers use. Although the firewall in some routers can be disabled to provide partial or full functionality with the Wii, some firewall settings on some routers cannot be changed and therefore are incompatible with the Wii. Nintendo has provided a list of incompatible units.
